Razer begins selling modular Tomahawk game desktop in US for $ 2,400
Razer begins in the US with sales of the Tomahawk Gaming Desktop, a modular desktop aimed at gamers built around an Intel NUC Element module. The basic version without a discrete GPU costs 2400 dollars and with an RTX 3080 the price is 3200 dollars.
The Razer Tomahawk Gaming Desktop was first shown at the CES show early this year and should have been released during the first quarter, which has likely been delayed by the corona pandemic. The desktop is a modular, compact gaming PC built around an Intel NUC 9 Extreme Compute Element. A NUC Element is basically a type of computer placed on a pci-e card, containing a CPU and chipset and space for RAM modules and storage.
The exact specifications are an Intel Coffee Lake CPU, namely the Core i9-9980HK, supplemented with 16GB of DDR4 memory at 2667MHz and a 512GB SSD with m2 form factor. There is a 2TB hdd and an optional Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 video card. The desktop can be expanded with different memory and storage, but that does not apply to the CPU. There is a space of 320x140mm for a separate GPU.
The product also has two PCI-e slots, one of which is for the Intel NUC 9 Extreme Compute Element and the other for the optional separate GPU, even though the Intel CPU also has the Intel UHD Graphics 630. gpu.
The card supports Wi-Fi 6 and comes with a 750W power supply. The whole weighs 7.35 kg without GPU and about a kilogram is added with GPU. The dimensions are 210x365x150mm, with a capacity of 10 liters. There are two Thunderbolt 3 connections, two Gigabit Ethernet ports and four 4 USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 connectors. It is unclear when the Razer Tomahawk Gaming Desktop will be available in Europe.
