Razer announces two new mice for gamers
Hardware manufacturer Razer announced two new mice for gamers on Tuesday: the Mamba and the Mamba Tournament. Both devices feature a laser sensor that is said to provide an accuracy of 16,000dpi.
With a suggested retail price of 179.99 euros, the Mamba is the most expensive of the two. According to Razer, the mouse offers a response time of 1ms and can be used both wired and wirelessly, whereby in the latter situation it can be used for up to twenty hours. The Mamba can be charged with a magnetic charging station.
What is striking about the Mamba is that it has what Razer calls Adjustable Click Force Technology. This means that the mouse is sensitive to touch. For example, it can be set that the buttons have to be pressed harder for sniping in an fps than when shooting with an automatic weapon.
In addition, Razer announced the Mamba Tournament on Tuesday. That is a stripped-down version of the Mamba, but offers the same basis for 99.99 euros. The device only works with cables and is specifically intended for ‘e-athletes’. Like the regular Mamba, the Mamba Tournament has nine programmable buttons and a scroll wheel. However, the mouse lacks touch-sensitive technology.
Finally, Razer reported that both mice are customizable with the so-called Chroma SDK. This makes it possible for developers to light up a certain part of the mouse from within a game, for example, when something happens, such as a base being attacked.
