Razer Announces Mac Support Across Product Line

Gamer input device manufacturer Razer announced at GDC that it will be releasing Mac drivers for all of its products. Until now, Mac OS X has only been supported for a few Razer products.

Although Razer launched an exclusive Mac OS X product in 2008 with the ‘Deathadder for Mac’ mouse, the focus remained on the PC market. Only a handful of products had a Mac driver available in the Razer range.

That is now changing. Robert Krakoff, president of Razer USA, at the Game Developers Conference announced that Razer plans to provide full Mac support for all of its products. In addition to support for new products, the announcement means that Razer will also release drivers for its existing products.

Mac OS X seems to be becoming more and more attractive as a gaming platform. Last Tuesday, Valve, the developer of the Half-Life series, among other things, announced that it is making its game distribution platform Steam and the games based on the Source engine available for Mac OS X.
