Razer Announces $250 Keyboard and Mouse for Xbox One
Hardware maker Razer has announced a keyboard and mouse for use with Microsoft’s Xbox One console. According to the manufacturer, it is the first combination of wireless keyboard and mouse for the game console.
The Razer Turret For Xbox One connects mouse and keyboard via a single dongle to the Xbox One with a 2.4GHz connection, Razer says. It is a modified version of the Turret keyboard that came out earlier. The Xbox One version has Razer Chroma RGB lighting behind the keys. With the lighting on in the standard position, the keyboard lasts eleven hours on a battery, without lighting that is more than forty hours. The mouse can last for thirty hours with lighting, without more than fifty hours.
Games can adapt to show patterns in the Chroma lighting and some games already have, namely X-Morph-Defense and Vermintide 2. It is unknown if more will follow. The keyboard exchanges the Windows key for an Xbox logo and that button opens the dashboard. The keyboard has mechanical switches, the mouse works with an optical sensor.
The keyboard and mouse combination will be available worldwide within three months, but the keyboard will only have an American layout. The price is 249 dollars, but no price in euros has yet been announced. Microsoft has done the work to make the Xbox One interface work with keyboard and mouse, a rumor revealed earlier. The keyboard and mouse combo also works with Windows 10.
