Radxa is releasing a new variant of the Rock Pi 4 singleboard computer: the Model C+. This will get a soc whose specifications are similar to those of the Rock Pi 4 Model B+, but with lower clock speeds. The new model will have a suggested retail price of $60.

The Rock Pi 4 Model C+ gets a Rockchip RK3399T with six Arm cores, notes CNX Software. The chip gets two Cortex-A72 cores that run at 1.5GHz as standard and offer an optional overclock to 2.0GHz. With the Model B+, these cores already run at 2.0GHz as standard, while the maximum overclock with that variant is 2.4GHz. The other four cores are Cortex-A53 cores, which run at 1.4GHz instead of 1.5GHz on the Model B+.

The sbc gets 4GB Lpddr4 memory and a socket for eMMC flash modules up to 128GB. The board has an M.2 2230 slot for NVMe SSDs up to 2TB and a microSD card reader. The Rock Pi 4 Model C+ gets two micro HDMI 2.0 connectors. One of them supports 4k displays, but the other is limited to ‘2k’. The board has two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 type A ports, a gpio header and an RJ45 connector for gigabit Ethernet. The sbc also supports power over Ethernet via an optional module. The singleboard computer is powered by USB-C and the board is officially compatible with Debian, Ubuntu, and Android 7, 9, and 11.

The Rock Pi 4 Model C+ has since appeared at some web stores, CNX Software writes. the sbc costs 60 . there or 65 dollars. That is slightly cheaper than the Model B+ with higher clock speeds. That variant is sold at the same web shops from 75 dollars, but including 32GB eMMC storage.
