Qualcomm starts delivery of Toq smartwatches from December 2
Qualcomm has announced that it will start shipping the first Toq smartwatches from December 2. However, the chip manufacturer charges a hefty price for its ‘smart’ watch: 350 dollars. The customer receives a smartwatch that is equipped with a so-called Mirasol display.
The toq is equipped with a 1.55″ Mirasol display. It has a resolution of 288×192 pixels. The Mirasol technology also makes it possible to read the screen in full sunlight. In addition, the screen is always on, unlike, for example, the Samsung’s Galaxy Gear Furthermore, the manufacturer claims a long battery life of ‘several days’, and the watch can be charged wirelessly.
The Toq is primarily seen as a showcase for Qualcomm’s Mirasol technology. Despite this, the manufacturer releases the smartwatch running on Android 4.0.3 relatively early. However, the manufacturer has announced a hefty price tag with an amount of $ 350, while it was previously thought that the price would be around $ 300. Qualcomm also announced that the smartwatch will be delivered from December 2.
