Qualcomm, in collaboration with Microsoft, is releasing a kit this summer to help developers get started with testing software on Windows 10 for Arm. When the developer kit will be released and how much it will cost is not yet known.

A price has not yet been announced at the time of writing, nor the specific details about the working memory, the storage or the Snapdragon soc that will be in the device. Still, the two companies state that the developer kit will be more affordable and convenient for developers compared to the alternatives currently on the market.

Qualcomm also announced the second generation of its Snapdragon 7c socs yesterday. The 7c Gen2 socs, according to Anandtech, run at a slightly higher clock speed compared to the first generation and should mainly end up in budget laptops.

Since December of last year, Microsoft has started a public test where the arm version of Windows 10 (preview build 2177) can emulate x64 programs. When Windows 10 for Arm was released, only 32-bit programs could run via emulation.
