Qualcomm has announced a new soc that will be made at 8nm. It is the Snapdragon 732G which is mainly aimed at midrange phones. The soc is the successor to the Snapdragon 730G released last year and has some minor improvements.

The new Snapdragon 732G-soc brings two improvements over its predecessor: the clock speed of the Kryo 470 CPU Prime core has been increased from 2.2GHz to 2.3GHZ and the Adreno 618 GPU is clocked 15 percent higher. than with the Snapdragon 730G. This GPU was also included, which was also clocked fifteen percent higher than the regular 730.

For the rest there are no differences compared to the existing 730G. That means there are still two fast cores: Kryo 470 variants based on ARM Cortex-A76 cores. So one is clocked at 2.3GHz and the second at 2.2GHz. These are assisted by six efficient Kryo 470 cores that are clocked at 1.8GHz.

The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G-soc is made on Samsung’s 8nm process and has not yet appeared in a smartphone. It is still unknown when the first smartphone with this soc will be released, but Qualcomm does specifically mention that the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone under the Poco brand name will have a Snapdragon 732G on board. This phone has not yet been announced.
