QNAP has added a new Turbo NAS to its lineup. It is a NAS with four drive bays that is optimized for 2.5″ SSDs. In addition, the manufacturer announced two more variants.

In the Turbo NAS, the TS-451S, QNAP has placed an Intel Celeron processor clocked at 2.41GHz. In addition, the device has 4GB DDR3L RAM, but this is expandable up to 8GB. However, more technical details are still missing.

QNAP reports that the device will be available to vendors immediately and end users will likely get the Turbo NAS within a month. It is not yet clear what the NAS will cost or where exactly it will be released. With the TS-451S, QNAP targets small businesses and home users.

Furthermore, QNAP has announced that it has renamed some already released devices in the SS-x53 Pro series in order to provide greater clarity to the offerings for customers. These are the TS-453S Pro, with four bays, and the TS-853S Pro, which has eight bays. Both models have a Celeron CPU with a clock speed of 2GHz and at least 4GB DDR3L memory. They can be used for both SSD and SATA drives and are mainly intended for the business market.
