Qnap releases four-bay TS-410 NAS

Qnap has added a new nas to its range. The TS-410 Turbo Nas offers space for four SATA drives, good for a storage capacity of up to 8TB. The nas also supports the iscsi protocol and the web interface has been updated.

In the TS-410 is a Marvel 6281 processor clocked at 800MHz, together with 256MB DDR2 working memory and 16MB flash memory for the firmware. Up to four 2.5″ or 3.5″ SATA drives can slide into the hot-swappable bays, providing up to 8TB of storage. the nas system offers raid modes 0, 1, 5 -with or without hot spare- and 6. Single disk and jbod configurations are also available, while the iSCSI protocol is also supported. Furthermore, the nas can handle both ext3 and ext4 file systems.

The TS-410 has two gigabit Ethernet ports, four USB 2.0 ports and two eSATA connections on the back. According to Qnap, the TS-410 can achieve over 30MBps via the ftp protocol. The manufacturer also states that the web interface has been improved. The 3kg nas consumes 12W in sleep mode and 20W during use, according to the manufacturer’s specifications, with Qnap assuming a configuration with four hard drives. Exactly how much Qnap’s new nas will cost is still unknown.
