QNAP releases beta QTS 5.0 with WireGuard support
QNAP has released the beta of version 5.0 of its QTS software for nas systems. This version includes better security, performance improvements, and Wireguard VPN integration.
QNAP also clarified which nas systems can run the software. QTS 5.0 is based on Linux Kernel 5.10 and the company has significantly updated the user interface, including a search bar in the main menu to find apps.
The software supports TLS 1.3 and provides automatic updates for QTS itself and apps. In addition, users can use ssh keys for authentication. QTS gets version 2.0 of QVPN 2.0 with support for the lightweight VPN application WireGuard to establish secure connections.
Furthermore, the cache performance when using an NVMe SSD is improved and faster image object recognition is possible when using an Edge TPU. Furthermore, QNAP has improved the diagnostics with the DA Drive Analyze function.
