Pushbullet Introduces Remote Device File Retrieval Feature

Pushbullet comes with a new feature to retrieve files remotely from a connected device. Remote Files is available in the free and paid versions of the app, but the free version is limited.

Remote Files is intended to remotely retrieve a file from a PC with a smartphone or vice versa. To do this, the app must be set up on both devices and both devices must have access to the internet. If one of the devices is turned off, Pushbullet will not be able to access the files.

Files can be stored anywhere on the device, so they don’t have to be in a shared folder. The function is off by default, but can be turned on via the settings. For now, the desktop app can only be installed on Windows machines.

With a free Pushbullet account, the number of files to be retrieved will be limited, while the file size will also be smaller than with a Pro account. Users with a free account can retrieve files up to 25MB, Pro users can retrieve files up to 1GB. The Pro version is short-lived, the company introduced the subscription last month.
