Pushbullet comes with paid Pro version and restricts free features
A paid variant of Pushbullet appears, the app with which notifications and files can be synchronized between different devices. With the arrival of Pushbullet Pro, the functionality of the free variant is also limited.
Pushbullet has been around since 2013 and was free to use until now. In addition, no ads were shown in the app. Now the service announces a revenue model, in the form of Pushbullet Pro. Users can subscribe to the service for $4.99 per month or $39.99 per year. With the paid version, files up to 1GB in size can be synced and users get 100GB of storage space. The free version is 25MB and 2GB respectively.
It is still possible to use the service for free, but with the arrival of Pushbullet Pro, a number of possibilities, including the universal copy and paste function, disappear from the free app. There will also be a limit of 100 SMS or WhatsApp messages per month. At the beginning of this year, Pushbullet made it possible to reply to WhatsApp messages that arrive on the user’s smartphone via the browser addon.
Users can sign up for a Pushbullet Pro account immediately, but payment will not have to be made until December 1. From that moment on, the limitations of the free version also come into effect.
