Purism introduces Librem 11 tablet with Linux, 11.5″ AMOLED screen and 1TB SSD

Purism introduces its Librem 11. This Linux tablet has an 11.5″ AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and has an N5100 quad-core chip from Intel. The tablet will be available for a suggested retail price of $999.

The Librem 11 is the first tablet from Purism, the company behind, among other things, the Librem 5 smartphone. According to the manufacturer, the Librem 11 is focused on privacy and security. The tablet runs by default on PureOS, the Linux distribution from manufacturer Purism. The device also uses PureBoot, Purism’s secureboot process which is based on coreboot and disables the Intel Management Engine, among other things.

The tablet is equipped with an Intel N5100 processor with four x86 cores with a boost clock of up to 2.89GHz. This chip does not have hyperthreading. The device uses the integrated Intel UHD Graphics GPU and gets 8GB of soldered Lpddr4 memory. The device comes with a Kingston KC3000 PCIe 4.0 1TB SSD and has two USB 3.1 type C connections.

The Librem 11 also has an 11.5-inch AMOLED screen. This screen has a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, which means an aspect ratio of 16:10. The refresh rate is 60Hz. The device also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 and gets a primary 13-megapixel camera at the back, an 8-megapixel front camera, a fingerprint scanner and a microSD card reader. The Librem 11 comes with a detachable keyboard and a stylus.

The tablet is available via the Purism website. The manufacturer gives the tablet a suggested retail price of $999.
