Purism Announces Two Librem Power Banks With Capacity Of 10,000 And 20,000mAh
Purism has announced two power banks under the Librem name. The smaller 10k model has a capacity of 10,000mAh, while the PowerBank 20k has a capacity of 20,000mAh. It is the first time that Purism announces power banks.
The Purism Librem PowerBank 10k get two USB-A ports and a single USB-C port. This power bank costs 39 dollars. Converted including VAT, this is 40 euros. The PowerBank 20k has one USB-A port and a USB-C port and costs 81 euros converted with VAT. This model also has a power button and charging indicator lights. Both models are only available in black.
Purist says selling the two power banks in order to ‘protect’ buyers from ‘untrusted, public USB charging points’. Since they have both USB-A and USB-C ports, they should be able to charge a variety of devices, such as smartphones, laptops and wireless earbuds. Both power banks can be charged with the USB-C port.
Purism does not provide details about the maximum power and how long it takes for the batteries to be charged. Both PowerBanks can now be ordered, also for customers outside the United States. However, these customers must bundle their PowerBank order with a Purism laptop or smartphone. Sending only a PowerBank is not possible due to legislation, Purism reports.
