PUBG’s Erangel Map Gets Visual Upgrade Next Week
Erangel, the playing field that started PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, is getting a visual upgrade next week. That coincides with the start of the fourth season of PUBG on PC. The same update will be released for consoles at the end of the summer.
PUBG Corp. has already made the changes to the game’s test server, and starting July 24, all players will see the updated version of Erangel. According to the makers, the playing field is thus more in line with newer levels of the battle royale game. Both the terrain and the buildings on the island have been renovated. Erangel is the island that players can play on since the first version of PUBG.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds updates will now coincide with new seasons, which will include new content, skins, and gameplay updates. Those seasons also come with a paid Survivor Pass, with missions and rewards. The fourth season in PUBG lasts 12 weeks and ends on October 15.
The game’s creators have also posted a cinematic trailer online that hints at more backstory to the island of Erangel. The updated map and missions in the new season should provide more clues about the history of the location.
