PUBG releases update to fix lag and issues 1.5 million bans
The Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds development team has announced Update #1 to PC Version 1.0. With the update, the team is beginning to fix the lag issues that many players are experiencing. In addition, 1.5 million bans have been issued for the game.
According to the development team, there are multiple causes for the lag issues of the past few weeks and fixing and improving will require continuous work. Among other things, the problems could be traced to an upgrade of the game engine and the addition of new content.
With the #1 patch, the team has eliminated server infrastructure inefficiencies and optimized game servers, and further research is needed to see how much this will help. The patch also contains some bug fixes, including crashes on replays and issues where players died unexpectedly after falling.
The game is also plagued by a large amount of cheaters. BattleEye, the anti-cheat service that PUBG deploys, announces that since March 1.5 million bans are handed out for the game.
