The mobile version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been released for Android and the iOS version will follow shortly. The Android variant would be playable on more than five hundred different Android devices.

The Android and iOS versions that have appeared were announced last November and should approach the PC and Xbox One versions as closely as possible. The mobile versions are based on the Unreal Engine 4 and with the game, just like the original, one hundred players are dropped on a map of eight by eight kilometers.

The mobile variants support voice chats and 7.1 audio playback. Differences from the PC and Xbox One versions are the presence of on-screen controls, the option to pick up weapons automatically and aim-assist.

PUBG Mobile for iPhones and iPads requires iOS 9.0 or later versions. The developer recommends using an iPhone 6 or later model, but it should work on an iPhone 5s too. The Android version requires a minimum of Android 5.1.1 in combination with 2GB to run and in total more than five hundred Android devices could run the game.

Last week a preview of competitor Fortnite: Battle Royale appeared on iOS. That game, according to Sensor Tower, brought Epic more than a million dollars in sales through in-app purchases within 72 hours.
