Chang Han Kim, the president of the recently founded PUBG Corporation, hopes to bring PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to “every platform imaginable.” This means that the game may also be available for the PlayStation 4 in the future.

In an interview with Inven Global, Chang Han Kim makes it clear that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is only available for Windows and Xbox One for the time being. However, the recently appointed director states that the ultimate goal of the PUBG Corporation is to release the game on every platform imaginable. However, he does not say how long the agreement with Microsoft will last, making the game “exclusively” available for the Xbox One.

The interview shows that it may take a while before the game is available for PlayStation 4. Kim states that Sony is strict with allowing games on the platform and that Sony has no equivalent of Early Access, which also makes a release more difficult. In addition, the studio is first focusing on finalizing the version for Xbox One, which is now available as Game Preview for Microsoft’s console. Kim does not specify when that process will be completed and the game will be officially available for Microsoft’s console.

According to Kim, the game performs above expectations on the console. More than 1 million copies of the game were sold within 48 hours. Developer Bluehole transferred PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to a separate company in September: PUBG Corporation. Kim, the game’s development lead until then, became president of the new company.
