The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Grand Theft Auto V will receive support for ray tracing, improved textures and up to 4k and 60fps. The enhanced versions of GTA V and GTA Online will be released on March 15.

The games will include new graphics modes, with up to 4k resolution and up to 60fps, this is how Rockstar announces. It is not clear whether the games will support 4k and 60fps simultaneously. The developer also talks about improved textures and draw distances, HDR options and ray tracing. No screenshots of the new versions have been shared yet. In addition to general upgrades, the games will also receive platform-specific improvements, such as support for the PS5 DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers,

Rockstar also says that the revamped versions of the games will use other improvements from the current generation of consoles, such as faster loading times, 3D audio and platform-specific features such as “advanced haptic feedback.” PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players can bring their single player and multiplayer progression to the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, with a one-time migration feature. It will be available at launch, just as PS3 and Xbox 360 players will be able to take their progression to the PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

A standalone version of GTA Online will also be released for both consoles, which will be free for PS5 players for the first three months. Current-gen console players can play GTA Online right away without having to complete the first few missions of GTA V. There will also be a tutorial in multiplayer and a Career Builder, which will allow players to directly participate in the Biker, Executive, Nightclub Owner and Gunrunner businesses. This version of GTA Online will also get a Hao’s Special Works garage, where ten vehicles can be upgraded “then using the enhanced performance of current-gen consoles.”

When announcing the release date of the PS5 and Xbox Series versions of GTA V, Rockstar also announced that it was working on another Grand Theft Auto game. The company did not provide any additional details on this.
