PS4 version Watch Dogs may not run at 1080p at 60fps after all – Update
Watch Dogs may not run at 1080p and 60fps on the PlayStation 4 after all. The official Sony product page that mentioned this was changed on Tuesday. This makes it unclear in which resolution the game will be playable on the latest Sony console.
On Monday, news came out that Watch Dogs’ official PlayStation product page stated that the game would run in full HD resolution at 60fps. However, any reference to Watch Dogs’ resolution and framerate is from the official Tuesday product page deleted.
The PlayStation 4 would therefore be the only platform on which Watch Dogs in full HD at 60 frames per second would be playable, besides the PC. Nothing is formally known about the resolution in which Watch Dogs will be playable on other platforms. However, there appeared rumors that the Xbox One version would run in 960p. Watch Dogs releases on May 27 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Windows. A version for the Nintendo Wii U is planned, but it will be released at a later date.
Update 14 Apr 10.36: On the official Ubisoft blog has the company announced on Wednesday that the PS4 version will have a resolution of 970p and the Xbox One version will have a resolution of 792p. The game runs at 30fps on both consoles. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game both do not include the Decryption multiplayer mode.
