Proximus increases upload speed Internet Comfort from 6Mbit/s to 20Mbit/s
Proximus is temporarily increasing the upload speeds for all its 1.65 million customers. The Internet Start package concerns a temporary increase for the duration of the corona measures, but the Comfort and Maxi concern permanent increases.
Proximus reports that it has already started the technical migration for the upload increase on March 16. It was completed last week. All subscriptions therefore improve in terms of upload speed. The largest increase concerns Internet Start, whose upload speed goes from 4Mbit/s to 20Mbit/s. How long customers can enjoy this upload is unclear. Proximus talks about ‘at least for the duration of the current corona measures’.
Internet Comfort also improves considerably with 20Mbit/s instead of 6Mbit/s. For Internet Maxi, the change means an increase from 15Mbit/s to 20Mbit/s. This also applies to this internet subscription within the Tuttimus and Familus packages. Business Bizz is improving with 10Mbit/s, including the Bizz All-in package.
The upload speeds of Internet Start Fiber are 20Mbit/s and that for Internet Maxi Fiber is 30Mbit/s. Bizz Fiber has the highest upload speed at Proximus: 50Mbit/s. According to Proximus, upload speed has become more important now that people are working from home en masse and using their internet connection intensively.
