ProtonMail: Teen who attacked our mail service has been arrested
ProtonMail says one of the people who attacked the mail service in recent months has been arrested. British police arrested the 19-year-old man for very different offenses than carrying out DDOs attacks.
George Duke-Cohan was arrested by British police at the end of August. ProtonMail had uncovered in early August that he was part of the group Apophis Squad that was behind the digital attacks. They then also passed on his name to the police, but they did not arrest the suspect, ProtonMail writes.
As a result, the attacks continued, but ProtonMail says it has done a lot to limit the inconvenience to other users of the anonymous mail service. The police arrested Duke-Cohan for false bomb threats in British schools and on a scheduled flight to the United States.
