Promo video shows concept of foldable smartphone from Samsung

A video has surfaced in which Samsung shows a few short images of a foldable smartphone. The promo video is from Samsung itself and has since been removed, presumably because it should not have been put online yet.

The video in question was briefly posted on YouTube at the Vietnamese branch of Samsung, but has since been removed. However, XDA Developers managed to get hold of a copy of the video. It is a short video of less than a minute, in which a number of short images point to the folding screen that the smartphone has.

Samsung probably did not want to put the images online yet; it is suspected that the images surrounding the announcement should be put online; Samsung is expected to announce a foldable smartphone on February 20, during the Unpacked event. Then the Galaxy S10 models are also expected.

Whether the foldable smartphone in the video is actually the model announced on February 20 remains to be seen. The images do not seem to correspond with information that Samsung itself has provided. Samsung may therefore use the images for promotion, and not to actually announce the model shown.
