Profile on Samsung site shows midrange smartphone with 64bit processor
Samsung will soon come with a midrange device with a 64-bit processor. It is an Android smartphone with the type number SM-G530 and which runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410-soc, just like the HTC Desire 510 presented on Wednesday.
The Galaxy phone will have a 5″ screen with a resolution of 960×540 pixels. This makes the screen slightly larger and slightly sharper than the Desire 510, which has a 4.7″ screen with a resolution of 854×480 pixels.
The soc in the G530 is the MSM8216 from Qualcomm, a variant of the Snapdragon 410 without 4g. This will be a cheap device, presumably with a suggested retail price of under 250 euros; providers like to see that all more expensive devices have 4g. The Snapdragon 410 has four Cortex A53 cores at 1.2GHz and an Adreno 306 GPU.
The device appeared in a profile on the Samsung site, as noted fan site Sammytoday. Moreover, the device has already been approved by the American inspection agency FCC, which makes a quick release likely. No photos or renders of the device have been published yet.
