Problems Continue After Batman: Arkham Knight Re-released Windows Version

The Windows version of Batman: Arkham Knight is back on Steam, but not all of the issues this version faces have been resolved yet. Sli support is still not present and there are still problems with stability and full page files.

In the notes for the patch that the game received along with its rerelease, Warner Bros. contributor Elder Pliny writes that some issues still persist. The problem with page files filling up still occurs during ‘longer’ gaming sessions on systems running on Windows 7, in combination with ‘some’ GPUs. Players can fix this by restarting the game or equipping their system with more RAM. Warner Bros. recommends 12GB ram for Windows 10 if players want to disable the page file. The stability issues he’s talking about occur with both Nvidia and AMD cards when running on the latest drivers.

It’s not entirely clear what issues Warner Bros. did manage to fix it in the four months after the company withdrew the game from sale. In a feedback thread on the Steam Community, players speak of the continuing technical and performance issues. The Linux and OS X versions of the game have also been delayed until spring 2016.

Community manager Yorick, meanwhile, reports that players who purchase Arkham Knight on Steam before November 16 will receive free copies of other Arkham games. Before December, these players would have Arkham Asylum, City, Origins and Blackgate delivered to their Steam account. In addition, Warner Bros. to a Community Challenge pack that will be free to owners of the Windows version. Plus, they’re getting these a week earlier than the console versions. This DLC should be released in January.
