Privacy policy Windows 10 preview points to the existence of keylogger
The privacy policy that Microsoft provides with the Windows 10 Technical Preview refers to the option of registering keystrokes. That indicates that Microsoft has put a keylogger in the new Windows version. Personal data is also collected.
The Hacker News pointed out a section of the privacy policy for the Windows 10 Technical Preview stating that text input can be saved by Microsoft. The purpose of this is to improve functions such as autocomplete and spell check. So it appears from the text that Microsoft has put a keylogger in the Windows 10 preview.
In addition to tracking keystrokes, Microsoft can also record voice input, such as when the user gives a voice command. This information can be used to improve speech recognition. Personal data such as name, e-mail address, interests, devices used and telephone conversations are also collected.
Logging keystrokes and other information is sensitive due to privacy concerns. Although the privacy policy refers to the possibility of collecting such information, it is not clear to what extent Microsoft actually does this. The company has not yet made any statements about this. The data collection software will probably only be in the Technical Preview and will be removed from the operating system in subsequent versions.
