The PC version of Prison Architect will receive the free expansion Cleared for Transfer on May 14. With this expansion, prisoners can now be transferred to the different security sectors within a prison, among other things.

According to publisher Paradox Interactive, the free expansion will give players more options to manage the prisoners. Security sectors can be granted “special privileges” with the update, and players can set requirements that transfer prisoners to lower security sectors. In this way, players can motivate prisoners to behave so that they can be transferred to lower security sectors.

The update also lets users create custom security sectors, where inmates of different security layers can gather. Actions such as shakedowns, tunnel searches and lockdowns can soon be carried out per security sector. Finally, the upgrade extends the Grading system to other rooms, such as classrooms and gymnasiums.

Paradox Interactive also announces that it is now responsible for publishing the console versions. At the beginning of last year, Paradox already bought these rights, but left the responsibilities for the console version with the developer Double Eleven. Paradox already released the PC version. By assuming these responsibilities, all future expansions should also come to the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One versions. It is unclear whether Cleared for Transfer will also be available for console versions.
