The prices can be found in the iFixit EU storewhile the replacement manuals also be online. This allows users to go through step-by-step instructions to install a replacement part. The manufacturer makes the charging port, battery, screen and back available as parts. Those are the parts that break the most in a smartphone. It is unclear whether other parts will become available later.

The phone was released last week after an announcement from manufacturer HMD Global prior to the Mobile World Congress telecom fair. After Fairphone, HMD Global is the second manufacturer to launch an easily repairable phone. Fairphone has had this as a spearhead in the design since version 2 from 2015.

The smartphone runs on a Unisoc T606 soc and comes with 4GB of RAM as standard. The device runs on Android 12 and Nokia promises two upgrades of the operating system and three years of security updates. The smartphone also comes with an extended three-year warranty. That storage space can be expanded with a microSD card of up to 2TB. The device has a 6.5” display with 90Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 720×1600 pixels. The G22 packs a rear camera with a 50-megapixel sensor. The selfie camera has a resolution of 8 megapixels. The smartphone comes with a 5050mAh battery that can be charged with 20W via a USB-C port. A 3.5mm jack is also provided.
