Anonymous sources have passed on promotional material to Engadget that may show the new Zune HD player. If the footage is authentic, then the new player seems to get a touchscreen.

The Zune line of Microsoft’s media player is ready for a fourth generation. However, the last Zune models were not launched by the software giant until the end of the year. Microsoft may want to respond to the ‘iPod fatigue’ among consumers with an early market introduction of a new Zune model.

In the leaked promotional material the player is equipped with an HD touch screen and only one button. With this design, the pmp seems to be able to compete with the iPod Touch, but due to a lack of specifications, many questions remain unanswered, such as whether the device will have a browser and how the interface functions. It is also unclear how Microsoft will implement the previously announced Zune games on a touchscreen. It is already known that the Zune interface will be included in Windows Mobile 7, the OS for mobile devices.
