Portal games from Valve are available for Nintendo Switch for 19 euros
Portal 1 and 2 are available for Nintendo Switch. The games are bundled in the Portal: Companion Collection, which is available in the eShop for 19 euros. Valve announced in February that the more than ten-year-old Portal games would be coming to the Switch.
According to the announcement in the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase the Portal games will be playable on Nintendo Switch ‘later today’. The bundle is in the eShop for 19 euros† When announcing in February, Valve said the Portal games would be coming to Switch this year, but didn’t specify a date.
The bundle includes the single player portion of Portal 1 and 2 and the multiplayer levels of Portal 2. These can be played in split screen co-op, or in local and online multiplayer. The port to the Switch was made in collaboration with Nvidia Lightspeed Studios. Previously, the games were also transferred to the Nvidia Shield TV set-top boxes, which run on an Arm soc just like the Switch.
Portal originally appeared in 2007. The second part came out in 2011. They are puzzle games in which players have to navigate through a research lab armed with a portal gun. A third volume has never been published, although the author would like to make one.
