Porsche Design releases variant of Huawei Watch 2
The German design company Porsche Design has released its own variant of the Huawei Watch 2. The smartwatch differs from the original version in the red accents on the buttons and the design company’s own watchface.
That watchface should be reminiscent of the dashboard of a Porsche car, the German company states on its own site. The red accents of the buttons are also reflected on the strap, which is a combination of leather and rubber. There is also Porsche Design on the bezel.
The specs are otherwise similar, so the watch has the same 1.3″ OLED screen with a round shape and a resolution of 390×390 pixels. It runs on Android Wear 2.0 and has an IP68-rated housing that is protected against dust and dust. water.
The German design company asks 795 euros for the watch, which makes it more than twice as expensive as the version that Huawei itself markets. Huawei and Porsche Design already worked together last year on a variant of the Mate 9 Pro. It was also twice as expensive as the Huawei version.
