Police arrest three internet scammers

The police have arrested three people suspected of committing fraud via the internet. It concerns a man and a woman from Deventer and a woman from Almere. In total they would have duped 140 people.

The 25-year-old man and the 20-21-year-old women offered smartphones, tablets and other devices via internet sites. However, after the buyers had transferred the amount offered, the items were not delivered. In total, they would have defrauded 140 people and the total damage amount would be around 12,000 euros.

The police would be investigating the three in May this year started, after reports about the fraud via Meldpunt Internet Oplichting. The investigation continues, after which new cases of internet scams may come to light. Last week, the police also announced that they had caught a young internet scammer: a 20-year-old suspect who may have been guilty of 250 cases of fraud.
