Polestar 3 SUV with ‘over 600km’ range goes into production in early 2023
Polestar will officially announce its third car in October, the company announced on Tuesday. The Polestar 3 will be the company’s electric SUV. The car will have a target range of ‘more than 600 kilometers’. The company also shares the first photos.
Polestar writes that its first SUV will be formally announced in October this year and that the car will be available to pre-order in a limited number of countries from then on. Production will then start ‘early 2023’, in the United States and China. The price is not known yet. The company also shows the first full photo of the Polestar 3. The company previously showed images of the SUV with camouflage stickers.
The company also shares more details about the Polestar 3. The manufacturer writes that the vehicle will have a powertrain with two engines. Polestar also talks about a ‘big’ battery, which should be good for a range of more than 600km under the WLTP test procedure† In the long run, the car should also be able to drive partly autonomously, based on a lidar system from Luminar and a chip from Nvidia.
Polestar will eventually also come with a Polestar 4 and 5. The former will be a more compact SUV that will hit the market in 2023. The Polestar 5 will be a sports sedan and will follow a year later.
