Polar is releasing a new version of its Vantage V sports watch. The V2 is lighter than its predecessor and has a screen with a light sensor, so that the brightness can be adjusted to the environment. The watch also includes new training and recovery programs. The Polar Vantage V2 weighs 52 grams including the watch strap, which was 66 grams in the two-year-old predecessor. The new model has the same dimensions of 47x47x13mm and the 1.2 “screen with a resolution of 240×240 pixels is also unchanged. New is the light sensor, which adjusts the brightness of the backlight according to the circumstances. The watch has a 346mAh battery. and lasts up to 40 hours in training mode, according to the manufacturer. In a new energy-saving mode, that is stretched to a maximum of 100 hours, according to Polar. When using the Polar Vantage V2 as a watch, the battery should last for seven days. The housing is made of aluminum. and the sports watch is equipped with software with various training programs and performance tests for runners and cyclists. Furthermore, the Polar Vantage 2 has smartwatch functions, such as music control and displaying phone notifications. The sports watch can be paired with Android and iOS smartphones, as well as with the Polar Flow software for training and workouts The Polar Vantage V2 watch is available from Wednesday for 500 euros olar also sells a combination of the sports watch with the H10 chest heart rate sensor for 550 euros. Polar also sells individual wristbands in other colors, for 35 euros each.
