The Steam version of the Pokémon-like game Palworld has sold a million times. The Early Access version of the game was released on Friday. Palworld is also available for the Xbox Series consoles and via Game Pass for PC, but no figures have been released yet.

Developer Pocketpair made the figures known through X. “Palworld has sold over 1 million copies in about 8 hours since release! Thanks for playing!” writes Pocketpair. Earlier in the day, the developer said it was “overwhelmed by the interest” and that the servers couldn’t handle the traffic.

Palworld is an open world RPG that resembles Pokémon in terms of gameplay. You catch monsters, called Pals in this game, and use them to fight or build things. The game also lets you create guns and rocket launchers, which you can use to shoot at Pals. Palworld also supports co-op. Players can explore the world with three others or go to a server that allows up to 32 players. Palworld was already announced in June 2021. The game will remain in Early Access for at least a year.

Update, 20-01, 5:36 PM: Palworld sold 2 million copies within a day. The mark of 1 million games sold was already reached within 8 hours.
