The Pokémon Go Halloween event kicks off on Friday, October 20. As part of this, players can encounter at least four new ghost-type Pokémon in the wild. A special Pikachu will also appear in Halloween costume.

To be precise, the in-game event kicks off on Friday at 9:00 PM and continues until 10:00 PM on Thursday, November 2. Developer Niantic announced this on the Pokémon Go website. Two new monsters that will appear in any case starting from this event are Sableye and Banette. Furthermore, the announcement only mentions “a few other ghost-types that are native to the Hoenn region.” In addition, starting in December, monsters that first appeared in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire will also gradually appear in the game.

Wild Pikachus are decked out in a typical Halloween witch hat to mark the event. A Halloween costume called Mimikyu’s Disguise Hat will also be available for players’ avatars. Finally, players earn extra Candy during the event. Candy rewards for catching, hatching and transferring monsters will be temporarily doubled. Finally, special loot boxes are offered in the ingame shop with items such as Raid Passes and Super Incubators.
