Niantic is going to release the chat app Campfire this summer. It is a companion app for Pokémon GO, Ingress, and other developer games, where players can interact with each other.

Campfire was unveiled on Tuesday at a conference Niantic hosted for ar developers† Players can send each other messages via the app, but can also organize meetups.

The screenshots of the app show a map, where players can choose different interfaces, such as a Pokémon GO interface. Users of the app can share their current location via group chat or one-on-one conversations. An exact release date of the app has not yet been announced.
