Pokémon GO and other Niantic games are getting a companion app to communicate
Niantic will release the chat app Campfire this summer. It is a companion app for Pokémon GO, Ingress and other games from the developer, where players can interact with each other.
Campfire was unveiled on Tuesday at a conference Niantic hosted for AR developers. Players can message each other through the app, but can also organize meetups.
The screenshots of the app show a map, where players can choose different interfaces, such as a Pokémon GO interface. Users of the app can share their current location via group chat or one-on-one conversations. The exact release date of the app has not yet been announced.
