Plex free for PlayStation and Xbox users
Media center software Plex has been available on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 since Wednesday without Plex Pass. In addition to this change, it is now also possible to view full shows and seasons at once on the PS as ‘watched’ or ‘still not viewed’.
That’s what made mattseeley of Plex through Twitter announced. With Plex it is possible to stream and synchronize content between devices. The software is available for most operating systems, including Android, iOS, Windows Mobile, various smart TVs and media hubs such as Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Android TV, and Apple TV. On the PC, Plex can be used on Windows, Mac, Linux and FreeBSD.
Different changelogs can be found on the specific device forums for both console types. For example, several startup problems for Xbox One users have been solved and servers are found again when the app is started via an unsecured server.
In addition to the disappearance of the need to pay and the ability to mark shows as watched or unwatched, PlayStation users will also see the ability to log network traffic. Also, several issues have been fixed, such as the correct assignment of the home button on the PS3 controller: it now works as ‘play’.
