Plex adds auto-tagging feature to photo library
Plex has made several changes to its photo library. One of the updates makes it possible to search the photo library for automatically generated tags. Plex performs photo recognition using a third party service.
According to Plex, the feature, which is performed by Imagga, is disabled by default and is available to users with a Plex Pass. The feature makes it possible to search your own photo library for tags like ‘dog’ or ‘beach’, after which photos with these subjects should appear. Recognition of faces is not yet part of the function.
Other additions to the service include a new interface for the web application to view photos and faster image import. In addition, the photo library now shows images and videos in the same overview. Until now, these two categories have been separated from each other.
