Plesk Panel 11 provides mobile management and website templates
Parallels has released version 11 of Plesk Panel, a tool used by hosting companies that provides customers with a control panel. Plesk 11 offers ready-made templates for websites and management via mobile apps, among other things.
According to Parallels, the Plesk web hosting control panel is used by three user categories: hosting providers and service providers who provide hosting services, resellers and web design companies who handle hosting for their customers, and the owners of hosted websites. For example, an end user can manage MySQL servers or change DNS settings via the Plesk web interface.
In Parallels Plesk Panel 11, hosting providers can further refine account security settings, such as determining minimum password requirements. Plesk 11 also now complies with the PCI standard for the secure processing of credit card data. Optionally, the payment process can be further processed via the optional software package Parallels Business Automation Standard 4.2. Hosting providers and resellers can use the new Plesk to offer more additional cloud services, such as virus scanners or backup services, according to Parallels. Administrators can also determine how the interface will look like for end users, while the design of the web interface has also been overhauled.
Plesk 11 includes an improved template system called Web Presence Builder that allows you to quickly build a website. The web builder has a modular structure and offers integration with social networking sites, among other things. There are about a hundred templates available, including templates for e-commerce purposes, which can be modified via drag-and-drop.
Webmasters can now control the Plex panel via a smartphone or tablet via the Plesk Mobile Server Manager mobile apps. This allows, for example, a crashed server to be restarted remotely. The mobile app is part of the so-called Power Pack that Parallels optionally offers.
