PlayStation Studios is in its own words impressed by the quality and progress of Haven Studios and has therefore chosen to take over the company. Raymond remains the director of the studio. Sony has indirectly invested in the company before by hiring the developer to create the AAA multiplayer game in question. Haven Studios is the eighteenth developer to join PlayStation Studios.

The company has more than 60 employees working on a live-service PlayStation game based on a “vision of an evolving world focused on freedom, excitement and playfulness that should entertain gamers for years.” Raymond writes, “We plan to use the amazing capabilities of the PlayStation 5 to create new worlds.”

Haven Studios was founded by Raymond in January of 2021. The Canadian game developer previously worked for a Google Stadia studio and produced Assassin’s Creed, Assassin’s Creed II, Far Cry 4 and Watch Dogs at Ubisoft.
