PlayStation stops awarding good behavior because no one uses it
PlayStation announces that the PlayStation 5 function to hand out awards to fellow players is going to disappear. The intention is that the so-called ‘curly braces’ will be deactivated this autumn.
Sony announces the discontinuation of the braces on its website. The awards were added with the release of the PlayStation 5. The feature allows players to give each other positive feedback in the form of awards during multiplayer sessions. One award could be awarded to a fellow player per game. Awards received can be displayed on the player’s profile.
According to Sony, the functionality was used so little that it makes no sense to keep the functionality in the air. Sony had expected that players would send each other positive feedback more often through the curly bracket system. Sony has not announced when exactly the braces will disappear. The company only says it will happen “sometime this fall.”
