PlayStation Remote Play app gets support for mobile networks
Sony makes it possible to use the PS Remote Play app with mobile networks. At first it only worked with WiFi. The app allows PlayStation 4 and 5 owners to stream games from their console to a mobile device.
Mobile network support for the PS Remote Play app is part of the major PlayStation September Update that Sony will release on Wednesday. According to Sony, a minimum speed of 5Mbit/s is required to play via a mobile network, but 15Mbit/s is recommended. The PS Remote Play app is available for Android and iOS.
At the time of writing, the apps have not yet been updated and it is only possible to stream via WiFi. The new version will have a toggle to activate streaming via mobile networks. There are four quality options to choose from. The lowest setting consumes about 1.6GB per hour, in the highest setting for the PS5 and PS4 Pro that is about 6.8GB per hour.
