PlayStation Now games could cost $3 to $20
Sony’s streaming service PlayStation Now will go into open beta in North America on May 31, and the games will cost between $3 and $20. While Sony is still figuring out which prices will work best, the decision is ultimately up to the publishers and developers.
In addition to pricing for individual games, Sony is also developing subscription models for PlayStation Now. Shawn Layden, head of Sony Computer Entertainment America, made the announcement at Sony’s E3 press conference. PlayStation Now offers players access to the entire game collection of Sony consoles from the PlayStation 3.
Layden also said that certain models of Sony’s televisions will also be equipped with PlayStation Now, meaning that in those cases, users only need a DualShock 3 controller before they can log in to PlayStation Now. It is unknown when the service will come to Europe. In addition to announcing PlayStation Now, Sony has indicated that the PlayStation 4 will receive YouTube support in the future. Players will have the option to upload their gameplay footage directly to the video website.
