Some PlayStation 4 users are experiencing issues after installing software update 2.0. The biggest problem seems to be not wanting to start up from standby anymore. There are also problems with YouTube.

Problems booting the console from so-called rest mode, a new name for standby mode, have been reported by many PS4 owners on Sony’s official forums. Some consoles stop responding when rest mode is activated. Sony says it is aware of the problems and is investigating a solution. The issues stem from software update version 2.0, which was recently rolled out.

Meanwhile, users are advised to shut down the PS4 completely, unplug it and wait for three minutes. Also, users can try booting in safe mode to reset the console. However, this will cause all data on the storage memory to be deleted.

In addition, the recent software update has caused problems with YouTube for some users. For example, in a number of cases it is not possible to link a YouTube or Google account and there appear to be problems uploading videos to the site. One of the novelties in update 2.0 was the introduction of a YouTube app. Furthermore, the software update has Share Play, with which someone can be invited to view or play a game.
