Nepal will not ban PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds after all. A group of lawyers successfully lobbyed against the ban. Nepal wanted to ban the game because it would be harmful to children.

The Supreme Court in Nepal decided not to enforce the controversial ban, the Himalayan Times reported. A group of lawyers filed a petition to stop the ban, as games and entertainment fall under freedom of speech and are therefore constitutionally protected in the country.

Earlier this month, the Nepalese telecom authority already tried to have the game banned. Internet service providers had to block the game because it would have a bad influence on children. They would become addicted to the battle royale game and therefore perform worse at school. Young people would also display violent behavior because of the game.
