PUBG Corp, the BlueHole-founded subsidiary for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, has announced that the popular shooter now has more than 30 million players on PC and Xbox One.

The company didn’t disclose how many times PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been sold for Xbox One, but given that the game has been out on console as an early access title since December 12, the PC still has by far the largest share of reaching the number 30. million players.

In early November, the studio announced that worldwide twenty million copies of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds had been sold. That means that the game has gained ten million players in just over a month. In September the number of copies of the game sold was still at ten million units and in August at five million.

The achievement of this player count coincides with the release of the major PC 1.0 patch for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. This update, which brought the game out of early access on December 21, has added the vaulting system, among other things. For example, players can jump through windows and over fences. Other innovations include the fact that fired bullets and projectiles are more affected by air resistance and that killcams have now been added.

Recently a new map has been added to the game. This desert map called Miramar is set in a desert setting in Central or South America and has quite a few steep cliffs that partially limit the playing field. Compared to the current Erangel map, the desert area has more and larger towns. The new map has exclusive weapons and an exclusive off road truck and jet ski.
