Platform game Hollow Knight gets successor for PC and Nintendo Switch
Team Cherry, makers of platform game Hollow Knight, have announced Silksong. It is a sequel to the first installment and the game comes out first for PC and Nintendo Switch. A later release may follow on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
In Hollow Knight: Silksong, players get to work with the character Hornet, who embarks on an adventure in a new kingdom. The second part contains new powers, weapons, enemies and environments. The new character has all kinds of new moves. Players who complete the game can get started with the Silk Soul mode. What that exactly means is not yet clear, but according to the developer this is a unique, challenging experience.
There were already indications that Team Cherry would come up with something new, but until now it was not clear that it was a full sequel. The first part of the platform game Hollow Knight was released for PC in late 2017 and was released for Nintendo Switch in early 2018. At the end of that year, versions for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were also released.
Team Cherry has not yet announced a release date and price of Silksong. Players who bought the first part through the Kickstarter campaign that funded the development will get the new part for free.
